It seems now Labor has won the state election just a few minutes ago! I voted for The Greens 1 and Labor 2, so this result is fantastic. Another Liberal free four years!

Labor returned in SA

Saturday, 18 March 2006. 21:18 (AEDT)

Labor has been returned in South Australia with a resounding victory for the Rann Government in today's state election.

With 60 per cent of the vote counted, the Labor Party has won more than 46 per cent of the vote, which represents a swing of 10 per cent.

The ABC election computer is predicting the party will win 30 seats, meaning the Government of Mike Rann will govern in its own right.

The Liberals have suffered a swing against the party of more than 6 per cent and are likely to win just 14 seats.

The Democrats have also suffered a 4 per cent swing against the party, but Family First have won almost 6 per cent of the vote which represents a swing of more than 3 per cent.

I just want to say that Rob Kerin's defeat speech was very noble and I have a lot of respect for him.

Some of the Liberal ministers who lost their electorates make my blood boil though. Just watching the news, two of them have said that:

• Labor didn't deserve the win and
• the voters were conned by the Labor government and that the voters unfortunately bought Labor's crap

For Pete's sake, shut up. You lost the election, the people were disenchanted with you and you lost. And to hint that the voters are stupid and that the only reason they voted was because they were "conned" is blatantly disgusting. Who do they think we are?

… and so far Labor is whooping the Liberals which is good news! Plus the Greens are up by over 4% from their previous position, very impressive! Let's see if they can beat Family First :D.

And even if I DID use Windows (and that's a very big if now) why would I trust a security suite being promoted through unauthorised and unsolicited bulk mail?
