Ladies and gentlemen, this evening it has come to my attention that I grievously forgot an event so epic in size and importance that I may be feeling the repercussions for many millennia to come, assuming my plan to live forever pans out. I forgot @Zombie_Plan’s Birthday.
ZDNet Australia is reporting on yet another bug caused by terminals running anti-virus software on a consumer level operating system instead of using a more efficient and secure embedded system that wouldn’t need such code running in the first place.
Why is it that interesting things happen in Adelaide when I’m away? And can we say traditional news is dead yet?
While waiting for my flight, I decided to skim the Adelaide Advertiser for something to do. The landslides in Rio warranted two columns, the Medvedev Obama nuclear weapons treaty warranted one. By comparison, a detailed analysis of the size of AFL footballs took up an entire page, complete with a gigantic colour photograph.
I know the ’tiser isn’t exactly the most reputable paper out there, but perhaps newspapers should be whinging less about the internet stealing their eyeballs and instead look at the quality of their own journalism, both push and pull factors are going on here. And Murdoch wants me to pay for such "journalism"?
For [sad face] family reasons I’ll be zipping back to Singapore for a fortnight tomorrow. I booked a convoluted route that had the effect of reducing both the airfare and probably my sanity by half. It’ll be Adelaide → Melbourne → Kuala Lumpur → Singapore.
The irony is, my sister flies to Melbourne quite often, and it takes her less time to get there from the Adelaide Airport than it does for me to get home from the airport using public transport. Adelaide Airport really needs one of these.

Labor is staying in power in the misleadingly-titled South Australia, but to my surprise when I woke up this morning I read Attorney General Michael Atkinson will be stepping down as… Attorney General. I could have phrased that better.
It’s so rare for me these days to have an excellent customer support experience that when it does happen I feel compelled to tell as many people about it as possible.

Every so often you read a blog post by someone that talks about an issue so close to you and using words you would have used that it’s not only spooky, but makes you think there’s a secret evil conspiracy going on. I accuse Josh Nunn of orchestrating such a conspiracy this evening with his latest blog post.

As I told the proprietor of this far more interesting blog than mine after repeatedly apologising, I make up for my lack of intelligent thoughts with… quantity! Like this post you’re reading now for example, there’s nothing of substance here whatsoever. An intelligent blogger wouldn’t ever publish a post like this. The Bird is The Word.
