Rubénerd!

I was all excited to see this new art of my beloved Senjougahara Hitagi, still the best character from the *monogratari franchise. If you believe otherwise, You Are Wrong.™ Well, Nadeko Sengoku is cute too.

Unfortunately, I was wrong, for a very different reason. This is someone (who?) from Grisaia no Kajitsu, a visual novel about an academy for socially awkward people. At least, as far as I can tell. It runs on the SOMY PSP, some obscure portable gaming device thing that doesn't run iOS or Android.

It's understandable why they'd want to take visual cues from one of the greatest modern anime characters ever, but still.

On Twitter this afternoon I said I couldn't justify posting a moe picture here for Moe Day 2011 given I'd only just posted this picture of Mugi-Chan recently. @Sebasu_tan and @hanezawakirika would have none of that however, and told me to post another one anyway. Then I was sent the adorable picture you see above, and was encouraged to blog about it!

This could very well be the first entirely crowdsourced blog post in Rubénerd.com's 4054 post history. I need more of these ^_^.

For those who don't watch/read K-On, Tsumugi is the one with the legendary eyebrows.

For over seven years I've [largely] abstained from posting animated GIFs. Worries about being distracting aside, their file size also puts strain on my already stretched bandwidth quota.

I guess you could say, I found this too sweet to pass up. Yui's clothes also match my blog theme, you see.

Haven't seen this official art until recently, does it have to do with the upcoming forth volume perhaps? In any event, really gorgeous colours, even if Haruhi herself was ironically my least favourite character in the series ^^;.

The first time Haruhi made a visual appearance on Rubenerd.com was in this screenshot of my FreeBSD 6.1 KDE 3.5 machine. Those were the days!

Upon asking an anime watching friend I met at uni whether the roles and personalities of the characters match up in this crossover, he responded with "Well kinda, Tsubasa and Mami both have ridiculous boobs". There you have it.

Yay, a K-On movie poster! Judging from the open blazer and blond hair, I'd say Ritsu is #2 and Mugi is #4. Azusa and Mio wear the same black socks so I can't tell them apart! Why are you looking at me like that?

UPDATE: Just noticed the black ponytail, so Azusa is #3, which therefore makes Mio #1. I think!

When things are looking blue, what more do you need than Mugi, Azusa and Yui, having a sandwich hug? My favourite three characters!. I suppose some matching drive icons would also be in order... one step at a time ^^;

The web is abuzz with the news! The girls from everyone's favourite moeblob series K-On! will be continuing their adventures in the covers of Manga Time Kirara, as university students. Azusa and co will also be still kicking around in Manga Time Kirara Carat forming the next iteration of the Light Music Club. Will they be punk rockers like everyone's favourite sensei, or will they be gorging on cake? Or will they forge a NEW path... one with punk rocking cake?! Time will tell.

One thing is for sure, the tidal wave of negativity from holier than thou anime fans who can't accept the fact nobody is forcing them to watch or read the series will be stronger and more vocal than ever. Oh well, if it makes them happy... let them eat cake ;).

The interwebs are reporting the K-On! Movie has been announced for the 3rd of December. I predict it will be about eating cake, performance anxiety and eating cake. Can't wait :D

As for those rolling their eyes, haters gonna hate.
