Adobe attacks… with figures!

Apple with Flash, Google with Internet Explorer 6

Adobe has responded to the lack of Flash on the new iPad, that Apple tablet device thingy if you haven’t heard of it because you were teleported into the future or have been asleep for a few days.

[...] without Flash support, iPad users will not be able to access the full range of web content, including over 70% of games and 75% of video on the web.

[Anime] Code Geass R3 Zero Requiem?

Lelouch with his dog. That didn't sound right.

I was looking for something else entirely but came across two images from Code Geass that I’d never seen before. Looking at the fine print it references R3 Zero Requiem which I’m assuming is an OVA of some description. When I first learned all my anime terminology around 2005 I first thought OVA meant the show was… over! True story.

iPad without Flash is Google without IE6

Apple with Flash, Google with Internet Explorer 6

Of all the criticisms of the iPad that have been thrown around since it’s launch barely a few days ago, the loudest seems to be the lack of Flash support. I’m going to get into trouble with a lot of people for saying this, but I consider it a feature, and on par with Google ditching support for Internet Explorer 6 on some of their sites.

An OpenSSH epiphany

OpenSSH

Today’s epiphany. Kind of embarrassing that I’ve been using OpenSSH for this long without doing this.

SSH with pre-shared keys is simply a pleasure to use. The fact the security is much better is just an added bonus ;)

Is that how you spell Epiphany? Let me go check the Gnome project page :).

Politicians avoiding questions video stuff

Google Video Search for politicians

Did you know, if you do a Google Video Search for politicians on Google Video Search (well that was a redundant sentence addition), the first result you get is a video titled "Politicians avoiding questions"

I think that says it all, sadly.

Probably no Firefox update security loophole…

Firefox NoScript update notification

Having only just sat at Starbucks to do some programming and cleaning out my desktop (I let far too many files accumulate) I accessed the free WiFi and launched Firefox only to see the above dialog presenting me with a NoScript update. Problem is, I’m connected to the WiFi hotspot but not to the open internet! Spooked out stuff.

OECD is OECD is OECD on Wikipedia

Wikipedia

Wikipedia’s article on the OECD:

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD, in French: Organisation de coopération et de développement économiques, OCDE) is a Paris-based international economic organisation of 30 countries.

[...]

In 1961, it was reformed into the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development by the Convention on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Amongst all the rules Wikipedia administrators impose, at times far too strictly I may add, I suggest this one be added:

WP:IO — Wikipedia Intuitively Obvious
If the title of an article accurately and succinctly describes the subject in question, further clarification is not necessary!
